Default RBR: Posting Fast Times

This isn't a guide on how to post fast times, I would just like a dicussion/topic on where you have personally improved times, personal tips/view points, where you use echo+srbs, etc.

So If you wish to post something, give your average run time and segements/checkpoints during which you've improved or think you need improvement.

Average Consistent Score: 445k with no KDs and no echo or SRB
Segements that need improvement: Gates 0-2, Gates 4-5 with no echo or srb.
Segements Most Improved: Gate 2-3(The cave) and Gates 6-8

Personally I've learned how to keep ~75% rrpm from gate 2 almost all the way through the cave, right up until before gate 3, where there is that last rise, that always seems to slow me down if i time my boosts wrong. Also sometimes i can even keep up ~75% speed boost and hit one of the water boxes depending on how lucky i feel.

However, the gate 4 to gate 5 section is definately my slowest point. You have the two wooden arch bridges to slow you down, as well as water, and several hills. Going into this section with no echo or srb, is definately a time waster.

If i get an echo+srb i usually like it near the 4-5 section as I think its my slowest section. As well, having the echo'd srb for the spiral gate from gate 5-6, allows you to keep ram and dash until right before the gate and from there you can keep up dash and ram, to give you +75% rrpm untl you finish. So really you can keep up +75% rrpm from gate 5 to the finish with a SRB right before the spiral bridge.

The problem I don't understand is, avoiding water at all costs, using speed boosts to try and maintain above 75%rrpm, and having no KDs, I can only post 445k times with no echo+srb. With an echo+srb, i can post 467k times with no KD's. So inorder for me to get a top score with how im playing, I pretty much need the hail mary run of hitting the echo+srb by the water boxes in the cave. Using that right away starts the 30s for the echo. So I'd need to hit another SRB during the one box before gate 4. If used right, the echo should expire around halfwaythrough gate 4-5, then hitting the last box before gate 5, to give me back echo. I could echo+srb again and keep +90%rrpm all the way to the finish. That currently is the only way I see me posting a top 100 time.

I've tried hanging back at the start to save my ram and dash, to allow me to have 75%rrpm from gate 1 all the way to end of cave. The problem this was is that i overtake everyone in the cave, where everyone likes to spam ram and the newly refreshed spit rocks from the water boxes everyone hits. So with only 4s of protection with harden, I usually get kd'd once there. The Gate Ram method, usually puts me into the lead, as i usually maintain a decent 250ms or under ping so i can get off Ram first, thusly thrusting me into the lead. However if everyone isn't loaded or etc. The guy on opposite side can usually do the same, so its a tie for the holeshot. However, with the holeshot, everyone likes to kd spam you, and also i find i can't quite keep up as much rrpm as if i save dash and spam out of the gate.

Also unlike dash, when ram ends, your speed drops from full to less than half, even if your going down hill sometimes. So i try to only use ram for the large hills and moments before checkpoints, and save dash for the longer stretches where overall maintained speed should be more important.

So feel free, to post you tips/strategies/etc, to help people achieve faster times, and please refrain from posts, saying I will never tell, or Don't tell everyone!, etc. As it stands unless i have a sudden relevation I'm not going to post a top 100 time, or unless i get my hail mary. So for those that want to post faster times, win some more races, and possibly make it onto the top 100 by sunday night, please feel free to speak up.

I really am not too sure about ram, or how to keep the speedboosts being chained. I pretty much try to save dash until I am starting to slow down and then use it.

Or save dash for the end of the cave and use it just before the checkpoint, then the newly refreshed dash and hope for a good box in the cows.

I usually stay out of all waters unless I get knocked down so much that I know I won't make it anyway, then you can feel free to go dive for a box hoping to atleast get infront again.

Usual times are from 445-455. Highest was 467 from 4 supers in a row near the end.

i can get out of the start cave great and at checkpoint 3 i average around 1:18....

but for some reason i always end up with ~445k. usually all i get is an echo which i save for the spiral bridge. i ALMOST always have my rpms above 50%. i really wish downhill slopes actually gave speed instead of decreasing.

i'd love to see how the top do it. i've given up on getting a top spot...too much lag to even really try. im still tryin to get my rat
